How to Twitter to Promote Products Online

By Chris Stirling On November 20, 2009 No Comments

For anyone who makes money online by selling products, Twitter can be a big help. It’s an easy way to keep past customers and potential customers informed about what is for sale. Once a promoter knows how to Twitter, the micro-blogging site can be used to send multiple messages directly to large numbers of people who may be interested in buying the items. Twitter can be used to promote items that are being sold in a member’s online store, items that will be sold at a home party or items that are being promoted as a part of an affiliate network.

To use Twitter, sign up for an account with the messaging site. Then, build up a network of followers. Placing a link to make it easy for people to follow a Twitter user can be done to attract followers. The links can be placed on blogs, in forums and anywhere else that a Twitter user spends time online.

Once people learn how to use the site and begin sending out messages, they often attract more and more followers. By following the messages, people get the updates that are sent out through the site. Those messages are also posted on the site.

Twitter members have a page on which their profile and Twitter messages are posted. Members can also include a picture to make the messages more personal. The best way to keep Twitter use interesting to as many people as possible is to keep the messages varied. Some messages should be more personal than others, and not all should be promotional.

As members learn how to Twitter, they discover their best ratio for business and informational or personal messages that should be sent to keep the most followers. With a large number of people checking the site, promotional messages can be sent far and wide.

Having a Home Based Business in a Small Home

By Chris Stirling On November 18, 2009 No Comments

One of the factors that many people consider when deciding whether to start a home based business is the amount of space that they require. Many people wonder whether they need a dedicated office for their business and whether a small home really affords enough space for an entire business. In most cases, a small home offers plenty of space to run a business if the space is used well.

Many times, a home based business is housed in one corner of a room. With a desk, computer and small filing cabinet, most home businesses can function quite well in little space. There are a number of small corner desks on the market that house a desktop computer, monitor and even some supplies all designed to fit within a small space.

A corner desk will fit into just about any room, or even a landing. Using a small filing cabinet next to the desk, or under it in some cases, allows the storage of receipts, notes, order forms and other paperwork that the home based business requires.

For people who have a laptop computer, their home based business can go anywhere. The back patio can be an office in the afternoons and the living room couch can be the office in the evenings. By keeping most of the business paperwork in a small filing cabinet to keep them from being lost, a desk isn’t even necessary when you have a laptop. This makes a very small space big enough for a home based business.

If space is needed for product inventory, a storage rental unit can be used. These are generally inexpensive and provide an enormous amount of space for inventory items, freeing the home from too many business items.

Home Party Stay at Home Mom Jobs

By Chris Stirling On November 16, 2009 No Comments

Home parties are an ideal way for moms to create their own stay at home mom jobs that fit into their busy schedules. Even with very young children, it’s possible to make money by throwing home parties and selling items to the guests.

There are many companies that are specifically geared toward providing people with products that they can sell during these parties. The products are often geared toward other mothers, making it easy to find people who will be interested in buying them. Stay at home moms often know plenty of other moms in the area, and those moms can be invited over for one of the sales parties. Then, the parties deliver a mixture of sales pitches for the products and socializing times that make the parties feel cozy and fun. In this relaxed atmosphere, many people order the items being sold, making money for the party hostess.

These stay at home mom jobs can take place as often as the mom in charge chooses to hold them. Some moms decide to hold large parties just a few times a year to make the planning easier. Other moms choose to host smaller parties much more frequently in order to keep the income coming in regularly. The frequency that the salesperson chooses to host parties often comes down to how convenient it is to host one. Busy moms can hold parties and make money without having to miss out on any of the parenting moments they want to have with their children.

Some of the best stay at home mom jobs offer a flexible schedule and a low-pressure way to make money. Home party jobs are sought after for just these attributes. For decades they have remained a way for moms to both stay at home and to bring an income home to their families.

Affiliate Jobs for Pregnant Women

By Chris Stirling On November 14, 2009 No Comments

One of the best things about doing affiliate marketing online is that it is a flexible way to make money. And, because it is not very physically taxing, it is one of the jobs for pregnant women that can be done at any point in the pregnancy and no matter what the circumstances. These jobs for pregnant women can be done even if bed rest is required, and can be scheduled to be done on those days when energy is surging rather than on those days when it’s flagging.

Affiliate marketing requires finding buyers for items that are sold in exchange for a commission fee. Most of the time, affiliate items are sold and the affiliate marketer is paid a percentage of the sale price. Sometimes, a product will have a flat fee that is paid to the affiliate.

Whichever way the payment is calculated, the end result is a job that is physically easy to accomplish and can be done at any time of the day or night. This makes them perfect jobs for pregnant women because they don’t require the type of strenuous work that retail sales can require if the items have to be stocked and shipped.

Instead, affiliate marketing is a way to make sales, and money, while letting someone else deal with the strenuous parts of the job. The company who owns the items being sold will take care of the lifting, packaging and traveling to the shipping point. There is no need for the affiliate marketer to do anything more strenuous than sit at the computer. These jobs for pregnant women can be adjusted to take only as long as the woman feels like working, and the income from that work will keep coming in even during her time off for maternity leave.

The Costs of Doing Work From Home

By Chris Stirling On October 28, 2009 1 Comment

In general, it costs far less to work from home than it does to work outside the home. However, there can be some costs associated with it. The equipment needed is often the same type of equipment needed in an office to perform the same work; so, many people need to buy the right equipment before they start their home work venture. This can include a fax machine, printer, the right computer and any software needed to perform the job.

In many cases, there is also a need for personalized stationary, including letter paper, envelopes and business cards. Some businesses also require advertising. Buying ads can be done online or offline, with online advertising often being less expensive than print ads, TV or radio advertising. However, some home businesses need to have local offline advertising, adding to the cost.

When a home business gets big enough, it may require an assistant or a partner to help it run more efficiently. A successful business can often be made even larger and more successful when tasks can be delegated to an employee, allowing the business owner to deal with the heavier business tasks. This can add to the cost of working at home, but it often means higher profits from the business that will more than offset the cost of having an employee.

Even with the costs that are often required for a person to work from home effectively, they are still small in comparison with the costs of commuting to an outside office. Those costs can include childcare, gas for the car, car maintenance, daily tolls and business clothing. Those expenses can add up so quickly that the costs of staying at home to work often make it an attractive option.
