Not All Home Data Entry Jobs Are Scams

By Chris Stirling On January 15, 2008 7 Comments

Admit it, you thought working at one of the myriad of home data entry jobs would be a little different. However, very quickly you learned that not only is it really a job with many of the same demands as the 9-5 job that you left, you also have to be very aware of the scam artists out there who basically prey on people and sell them the hope of working online but have no actual intention of paying them.

When you’re seeking an online data entry job, one of the biggest tip offs that an advertised data entry job is a scam is vagueness in the ad. If you are only promised great amounts of money without there being even the most basic description of the type of data entry work you’re going to be doing, steer clear as that is a heralding sign of one of the many home data entry jobs that are scams.

Free online classified’s are notorious for having scam data entry jobs at home. Ask around if any of your friends are doing home data entry jobs or see if they know anyone who is, as you can start finding reputable companies that way. Another way is to go to a well known job forum such as Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com; both require a lot of employer information as well as a payment for advertisements. This helps weed out a lot of scammers, but they are still out there and the onus is on you to be aware.

The biggest difference about home data entry jobs and working in an employer-employee job situation is that your data entry jobs will generally not be long term. You will need to drum up new business on a regular basis and a good time to start bringing in new data entry business is when the current job is coming to a close. In this way, you can keep your revenue from your at home data entry jobs flowing in and keep your bank account healthy.

Do not let fear of the unknown stop you from finding a job that you love. Data entry jobs are plentiful and companies need good, dependable help. It is a great way to work at home as well. Many companies have turned to home workers to fill data entry jobs. You do not have to worry about driving to work and you have the freedom of getting to make your own schedule. Who is King of the Internet?

By Chris Stirling On January 13, 2008 No Comments

I just saw three charts that changed EVERYTHING I thought about traffic. I mean, these charts really shook me up.

I thought Google was the king of traffic, and getting a good ranking there was like the Holy Grail.

It isn’t.

Looking at those charts changed everything for me. They smacked me right between the eyes.

I mean, I "got" the charts immediately, but I must have stared at them for three minutes just thinking about what it meant for my business.

Go take a look at them… let me know if you had the same reaction:

Make The SMARTS Choice

By Chris Stirling On January 11, 2008 No Comments

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been talking a lot about Social Media and Web 2.0. In fact, right now I’d say it’s the hottest topic in the Internet Marketing world.

graphfacebook.jpgAnd for good reason. The power of the social media can literally make or break your business.

It’s true. Just get a few people talking about how wonderful (or God forbid, how horrible) your product is, and you’ll see
monumental changes in sales…practically overnight!

It’s happened time and time again with many different companies and products, both on the good and the bad side. And guess what? It’s not going away.

If you don’t have a product or business you can harness the power of Social Media to drive traffic to your affiliate or MLM links and generate massive sales or refferals.

So how can you take advantage of the social media powerhouse and make money online?

Easy. Just do what the eggheads at Stompernet do.

Work From Home Business Trend Continues to Grow

By Chris Stirling On January 9, 2008 1 Comment

For decades, part of the American dream was to own your own home and to own your own business. It doesn’t take much investigating to learn that most of America’s millionaires are small business owners, and in recent years as the internet has dramatically changed the face of commerce and business, the has become a trend that has exploded in popularity.

Thanks to faster computers and faster internet connections, just about any endeavor can be undertaken from a home office base. Even with large groups of people who collaborate to put a business plan into action from different parts of the country, or different parts of the globe, the internet has made it as easy as collaborating with the person in an office next door. For some companies, their biggest challenge is coordinating a meeting time to accommodate schedules of their people who are spread across many different time zones around the world.

The technology and the innovations that have been introduced through the advances in the internet have truly made it possible for more people than ever to engage in business from their homes, however just because many aspects of business have been simplified does not mean that a work from home business should be thought of as easy or no work. Like anything worthwhile, it still takes work and effort to enjoy success.

Some people make the mistake of treating their home based business more like a hobby than a business. Part of the reason for this is because they can simply sit down to the computer whenever it’s convenient to work on their business, and because they are used to going into the office where their mindset has switched into the business mode.

However, a work from home opportunity takes the same dedication and commitment as any other venture that you want to make a living from. One of the first things you will need to develop is a business plan that will give you a step by step outline of what you plan to do with your business and how you plan to do it.

You will also need to gather a team to help you accomplish your plans. This is often called a Mastermind Group, and at the beginning of your business can be a group of people who will help you brainstorm and give you feedback. Often you can get into such a group through some of the home based business forums, or just organize it among some of your like-minded friends or associates who are willing to help.

Eventually, as your business is successful, you will need to have professionals on your team such as an accountant, a tax advisor, a lawyer or others who can give you the expertise you need to continue to grow your home business. It is extremely rare that anyone becomes highly successful in their work from home careers by trying to do it all themselves or operating in a bubble. In fact, this is one of the dangers that working from home can lead to, because people can forget to include the perspective, feedback and expertise that others can bring to help the business become more successful.

Practically any type of venture can be managed these days, regardless of how many people are involved in it and where in the world they are located, via the internet and can be a business. It is clear that this is a trend that is just getting started and as technology continues to develop it is sure that it will be even more simple for people around the globe to collaborate and bring great business ideas to life.

Imagine getting up in the morning, getting ready for work and simply walking into your home office to begin your work day. The freedom to take breaks when you want and not worry about going over your allotted lunch hour. For some this dream is a reality. It is not just for stay-at-home moms, either. Thanks to the internet, there is a growing need for outsourced work by companies or industries that are allowing telecommuting.
