3 Tips to Protect Yourself Against Work From Home Scams

By Chris Stirling On February 25, 2008 Under Work At Home

scams3.jpgAs everyone knows there are plenty of work from home scams on the internet. Here are 3 tips to help you avoid becoming a vistim of a scam artist.

1) Testimonials- Be sure the website offers testimonials of satisfied customers. If they don’t offer testimonials, there are no satisfied customers. At the same time read the testimonials to ensure they are not fake. You can spot a fake a mile away, they often say exactly the right right things, or how outlandish claims like "I made $10,000 in my first week with 1 hour of work". A true testimonial will often have smaller claims of success and be less polished.

2) Money-Back Guarantee- If the company does not offer a 100% money-back guarantee for at least 30 days or longer then there are red flags that shoudl go up. I would not trust giving them my money. The longer the guarantee the better. You can always use the guarantee to back you up if you need to make a complaint.

3) Not Enough Information- The website should be able to answer all your questions. If they can’t answer the most important questions, they may have something to hide. If the site does not have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section then look for a contact information when you can ask your questions. I know they can’t tell you everything before you make your purchase but the important questions should be answered before you hand over your money

Good advice. Another tip, look at the “Disclaimer” on the website. The promise of generating instant wealth while on vacation at some exotic location, usually has a “Disclaimer” which tells you that the results are not typical and will be based on your individual capacity.
