This is a subject I would like to write a few words about.

One of the things that gets under my skin is people will sign up for a particular online offer or business and spend maybe any where from $25.00 to maybe $200.00 and after they try what they consider putting in some effort. They don’t see tons of checks come filling their mail boxes up if any, the first thing that comes out of their mouth is SCAM ! Why is that? Well, there is a lot of scams out there you have to watch for sorry to say but, there is also a lot of good opportunities and online business that are very good. The ones that are good get tagged Scam why? Because the people get in and just plain and simple don’t do the work. So, they say SCAM!

If you were to buy a franchise for many thousands of dollars say like a McDonalds and you sat on your behind and didn’t do the work, managed it poorly, and lost everything. Could you say it was a scam? No !! There is to many making a lot of money for you to say it. You can drive down the street in any city and see one about every mile or so. Well, you can’t drive down the street and see on line business that are doing very well. You judge for your self or you take what you read on line and say that is a SCAM!

Let me give you a example of my own experience. I signed up for Amway many years ago. I gave it my all, worked at it for about two years, had many people sign up under me to just quit after they could not get it off the ground and in turn, I quit. Was it a SCAM? Absolutely NO! Why didn’t I call it a scam. Because it was one of the hardest business I ever tried doing. I did not have what it takes to approach strangers and stand up in front of a lot of people and try to make them believe they should get involved and do what I am doing. The reason I didn’t call it a scam was because I knew people that did make it and make it big. One is still a good friend of mine who retired at 38 years old a millionaire from Amway. I just wasn’t willing to do what it takes and he was.

I know on line business work because I am doing it. The reason this works for me and Amway did not is simple. I don’t have to stand up in front of people and give speeches, I have hundreds of people click on my site every day that are looking for what I do. I don’t have to go out and approach people family and get some even mad. In the on line world they come to me, I don’t see them I just show them many offers and they choose what they want to try. It is entirely up to them if they make it a success or not.

You are the captain of your ship. You can sail it into paradise or you can sail into a ice berg and sink. Give it your all people before you label it a SCAM!

Till next time,

Larry - well said. Also the best part of an online business is there are no employees! You can outsource everything and the internet is open 24/7 so you can make sales when you sleep while your computer is off. Try doing that with a brick and mortar business.

I have been in both, brick and morter and on line. I feel on line business is less stessful and can be done with no employee's. A real plus for me.Both take work.

I think that the most-often used way to make money online is AM, Affiliate Marketing. In the world of AM, it's an inverted pyramid. At the bottom, it's small because it represents that you have not learned enough, have less cash to re-invest (because there's no money coming in), have fewer options to capitalize on (because they cost money), and because it's a far, far slower process than the methods used at the top of the pyramid. However, it's a progression that all AMers go through. So, by the time you get to the top of the pyramid where Jeremy is, you've learned so much more, you've got lots more cash to re-invest, more options to capitalize on, and can get faster results with more financial returns.

To get started could be as simple (but also as slow) as going to blogger.com (or similar sites), paying nothing, putting content there based on trends from various keyword trend sites and "what's hot" type sites, and adding in advertising such as Google AdSense or others. Then, doing this multiple times with different free blogger sites. If your content is interesting enough to draw readership and get you hotlinked from other sites, then your SEO ranking goes up. You then get cash in the door. But that's just getting started. Once you have cash, you have to know where to re-invest and in what programs. Sometimes it costs you money to learn secrets of the masters, and they give away those secrets for a price because there's risk involved. That's how the building blocks of the inverted pyramid get built. Eventually, you can make some percentage of your cash by being the master, sharing your knowledge with others for a price.

lol ... cheap, lazy and expect instant gratification ... unfortunately, that seems to describe about 90% of people who are looking to make money online.

... no wonder so many fall for the "no selling, no advertising, we build your business for you" type ads.

Good points. I love reading sales pages, but I usually believe it is a scam, so since I am lazy I hardly ever do anything about it because it would take more than a nanosecond. I guess you are describing me. It hurts to hear the truth.
