I do not do data entry for one simple reason, my typing skills. I type all day long, and have taught myself, including plenty of bad habits. I have been trying to correct these habits so that I can go beyond my plateau of 50 wpm while staring at the keyboard by using a typing tutor program that comes free with my Linux distro. If you want to do data entry, typing is the key, and the #1 skill you will need. I have started to raise my head a bit (in just two weeks on a program of really trying to type), and though it has brought me down to 30wpm, it is increasing daily, and makes me feel good about doing it the right way. I have found that even with a lower wpm, I work faster. You would be amazed how much time we spend bobbing our head up and down between screen and keyboard.
