Rebate Processor Jobs Review

There is a new work at home / make money online program that has hit the market.  The basic concept of this program is they pay you to process rebates.  It sounds like a great deal doesn’t it, you can process rebates at home and earn $15.00 for each one that you complete. Although this does sound interesting it is not the complete picture.

If you go to the website of one of these new companies they make it seem like all you are doing is filling out forms when people ask for a refund.  Once the refund is done they will send you a payment of at least $15.  The reality is not quite like that.

Rebate processing is affiliate work. Companies like RebateProcessorJobs.com are not hiring you to work for them and then paying you by the piece.  What they do is teach you how to find products that you can sell online.  They then teach you how to write ads to sell these products - in your ad you will offer a "rebate" when someone buys the product.  Usually the rebate is for $8 on a $49 product.  When that product sells you usually receive a $23 commission minus the $8 rebate you offer making you $15.

So in reality the new are not really what they say they are - but they are a creative way to market products online.  Often these products have many people selling them so a creative ad like "I’ll give you $8 to buy this product" will cut through the clutter.

The training they provide is good if you have no experience selling or making money online.  The members website is solid and it posts many great free sites that allow you to post your ads for free - so you can make money with this program by not spending anything more than the small fee for access to the training and members area.  For those that have a mid level of experience online there is no need for you to join these programs, as there is not much new information.

Rebate Processing jobs are a legitimate method to make money online - it is unfortunate that they are not 100% clear on how the program works on thier website until after you pay the small fee for the training.

Still sounds like a scam to me. Just like the ones where you get $5 to stuff an envelope - after you pay $50 for the course - but what they don’t tell you is that you run the ads.

    Its all deceptive and misleading.

Matt - thanks for your comment. I agree that the message that the rebate processor uses is a bit deceptive in the sense that you are not just processing rebates, you actually have to sell an item and then give a rebate.

I disagree that this is a scam because a scam is when someone takes your money and gives you nothing in return. This program does have a one time fee but in return they provide a high level of training to help you succeed. So the one time fee is comparable to purchasing a textbook in school or a “how to” book in a book store. What you do with the information in the book is up to you.

I disagree! It is a scam because it is misleading….It leads you to believe that you will be processing rebates from home! That’s it.

A definition for scam is A ploy by a shyster to raise money. A definition for ploy is An action calculated to frustrate an opponent or gain an advantage indirectly or deviously. A definition of shyster is a person (especially a lawyer or politician) who uses unscrupulous or unethical methods. You can look these up on the web. So is this a scam? I’d say it is a ploy because it trys to gain an advantage indirectly. The shyster part, well I would call this a deceptive ad and unethical in business. By definition it seems to be considered a scam. James is definatly more right than stirls. Lets be clear. The ad is considered a scam. The program is real. You do get training and you can make money. We can be against this type of ad but with just a little research on the web I got the whole story. I wondered if you send a bulk email asking for $1.00 to help you with a worthy cause like sending your kid to college, if you would get responses. One of these places is asking for almost $200.00 making people believe they’ll make money with almost no effort. I’m fairly sure the majority of them that pay never do anything with it. I wonder if they really do get their money back from the garentee? That’s probably misleading also. I’m sure this is a way for the person or persons putting out the ad to make money. Do they really care if the customer makes money? If I do something that’s not misleading would I make as much money? If it’s all about making money they’ve come up with a new way to make them selves money. Good job. Perhaps rather than processing rebates we should be putting scams out on the internet. Who teaches that? How about we put out an ad saying we’ll teach you how to place scams on the internet to make a lot of money fast if you send us $200 for this very valuable package. If you can be as creative as those guys at being misleading on the ad it would work. There you have it. Another new way to make money from home. Would that be considered a scam. I guess so but if you have a couple hundred thousand in your pocket would you loose sleep?

What people need to do to find out if the online jobs they want to do are legitimate or not is to see if they have the BBB Seal on them if it doesnt commom since will tell you its not legitimate. So next time look for the seal.

The thing about the BBB seal is that some people actually “paste” that seal on their websites. If you hover your mouse over it and it doesn’t work as an actual link to the BBB, then it’s not real. I’ve had to check a lot of places like that, and believe me…the seal was there but it didn’t actually function. They want you to see it there so that you will believe them, but they don’t want you to check it out. So, even if the seal is there, take the time to verify for yourself.

It sounded so good, and just what I was looking for. As always, if it sounds too good to be true…
Has anyone got any information on an Angel Stevens? She is one of those people asking for $197 to become a certified rebate processor.

Thanks for the tip, this is most certainly a scam. If it wasn’t a scam they would say exactly what you are doing instead of having to market it with a bunch of half truths. I know we live in a time of where getting money anyway you can legally, while not ethically, is considered a job well done, but give me a break.

This company is deceptive from the start, this is like saying “Get paid $60/hour to literally sit around/sleep and play games with your friends!” Then when you take the job they say “OK, so you signed up to be a Fire Fighter, we’ll give you great training on how to be one so that you can make your $60/hour…Lesson #1 Jumping into a burning building and risking your life to save total strangers.”

They could give the best training in the world, it still doesn’t change the fact that they intentionally left out the most relevant part of the job and are making it seem as though rebate processing is the job when really it is internet sales that involve rebate processing only after you personally make a sale. It is disgraceful, if anyone knows the state that this company is run from, please email me, I’d love to report them to their state attorney general for them to be investigated.

I think the problem with these scams or ploys or whatever, is that they lure people who are down on their luck. They don’t bother to mention that you will only make money if you sell, nor do they mention that it may take a long time to actually sell something. Not to mention hidden costs. Are there any? While Adword campaigns are good in theory, unless you know the words and have the money to sink in, you won’t make any money. It just makes it more frustrating for people who are trying to make a living honestly working for a company without commuting.

So. I’ve been checking out these rebate processing jobs for a few days now. Yea, when you’re reading the sites, it sounds great, but isn’t that the point? If they told you at the start , “Hey, come to my page full of misleading information, pay me $197, and you could get rich!” would you go? They already told you they were misleading you. I was sucked in, I admit it. But, I don’t have this kind of money to throw out frivolously. So, I e-mailed them. GOtta love those “Contact Us” links. I told them my story, (since they already had me read theirs) and agreed to pay them their exorbitant fee. That is, of course, once they give me full access to their site first, and then, in addition, it must turn out to be real, and I must make the money like they say on the page that I will. If it works, then I’ll have no problem paying them. Waddya think they’ll say? I don’t hardly think so. *sighs* What a wonderful world of public lies….

I got an advert (spam) for a rebate “center” in my ebox, and as usual I check things out by “description of offer = word scam” in Google. I found out what this was all about without having to go to the website. I now know that I can do this for free, without even needing the program. I do this exact thing for a living right now, though in a different fashion. It is too bad that people feel they have to deceive others in order to get participation. The technique itself is not a scam, it is the same thing grocery store owners to car dealers have been doing for years, it is called rebat pricing, a form of discounting as an incentive to buy. I pay people to go to incentive websites for me to help me fullfill my referral requirements for rewards and prizes, a twist on the same concept, but I never have to decieve the paople I work with in order to get them to do it, I just pay them what I say I will pay them, and it turns out just fine. There is no need for the pozie scheme. I just know that if a company feels they have to lie to me in order to get me to do legitimate work, then I might do it, but not for them. I encourage people to do this, it seems like a great idea, but you don’t need a company to do it, just offer half of your affiliate commision in order to get people to buy form YOU, and not the other guy. Incentive based affiliate sites have been doing this for years, and make enough money to actually pay out the prizes they say they do, enough so that I can pay half of this prize amount to other prople just to help me get the prize.

As for the BBB, I can surely tell you that while it may make you feel a little better to see that seal, it really only means that the company has paid their dues, and hasn’t been caught up in so many wrong doings that the BBB no longer wants their money. I was a telemarketer for several years, and they all belonged to the BBB, but you would not believe some of the things that went on in those boiler rooms.

Best of luck for all who are looking for honest profits onlie. It is usually right there between the lines, honest work offered to you by dishonest companies. It is the same as offline.

    Thanks for listening.

I am still fighting them today to quit taking money from my checking account. And I have even turned them in to the BBB for it but their still up and running. So the BBB symbol does not always mean that they are legit.

I am so glad I found this page even if it is dated last year! I almost got caught up in something for a $150.00 fee from an email ad. I Have had my eyes open cause of what I had had just read. I believe in seeking and searching. But, most favorably, I do not have the $39.00 nor the $150.00 to just hand over to people who is kind of only thinking of themselves making money online. Poor slugs such as you and I presuming you all need money for things like myself, surgery, or getting you car fixed cause someone hit and run you, and you have to pluck out $500.00 cash when your spouse is only making $8.00 an hr. People kind of prey on people who seem a bit desperate to make just a little extra to get by. Thank you all! Now I have an idea how all this work.. I myself would like to get ahold of companies, and dicker with them about hireing me to do this rather then going through all the hassel of a web site and trying to sell something! This way their article is already out there promoting ther items consumers have bought. Follow me? to me this is more legit then what is appearing to be playful inticing words to get you committed. The ones i have checked into, DOES NOT Guaratee back no money refund if your not happy with it. So folks i learned something today!

I agree with Mark and James - If it doesn’t “TELL IT LIKE IT IS” UP FRONT, Popular Opinion makes it a SCAM. Deception in any form makes it a SCAM. Just because you can use the “lemons to make lemonade” doesn’t mean it’s not a scam. They’re not selling me what I paid for. If it’s so great why don’t they just tell the truth? They are basically TRICKING you into paying them for something other than what you think you are paying for. I like to know what I am buying BEFORE I buy it. A LIE = A SCAM.

Also looking for the BBB symbol doesn’t really guarantee anything. They can only tell you about and take complaints about paid members. It’s basically a club that anyone can pay to join. A Scam company could join today (or just put a fake seal on it!)and by the time someone complains they’ve scammed thousands of people for thousands of dollars never to be heard of again. On the other hand, just because someone isn’t a member of the BBB doesn’t mean they aren’t a good and legitimate business!

The opportunity to earn an income may be legitimate. However, that does not matter because the advertisements present the opportunity in a manner that totally misleads the reader. If these advertisements were printed in a newspaper, the company placing the ads could be sued for false advertising and there is a possibility that that recourse may exist for anyone swayed to take action by the rebate processor job web sites.

Looking back, the way the opportunity is presented looks quite a bit like the old “bait and switch” scam, where a storeadvertises a product, then when you show up the store has run out of a product but will gladly substitute a different product for that advertised. The difference is that with the Rebate Processor Job scam you do not find out that the product is different until you have allready paid the price.

The idea of checking with the BBB seems like a good idea, and I’m sure is better than not looking at all. However, all they are is a place for you to complain to, they do nothing to help you settle any disputes. In fact, as long as the company you do post a complaint about gives an “excuse” with no proof, you are required to show proof that they are not telling the truth, otherwise the complaint doesn’t even go on thier record. This happened to me. (Do do SMC!)

Timothy, my good man, where the heck are these sites? I have been looking for something to supplement my income and everthing I have researched usually ends up “not being” what is seems. …Also, everyone else, please hear my cry! NEED AT HOME WORK! What kills me about these sites is the ever infamous, “I have to charge you this amount in order to pay my staff,” like they are not getting paid! If I had close to 20 people (guesstimation) sending me close to $200 a day, my pockets would be pretty “bulgy” too! I must say, in my quest for at home work, I have learned a lot! But so many “con artists” (call them what they are) have tainted the waters, it’s crazy what you have to go through to find something honest. My husband has even become leary; he even saw a report on one of the major morning shows exposing some work-at-home programs. Sorry message so long, love the blog, Be Blessed!

Comment by “Concerned Citizen” of 01/06/08 says it well. If you look carefully at the Angel Stevens offer )processrebates @ home.com)-you will note they operate out of Nicosia, Cyprus.
They also tell you there are only a “few openings left”, and the offer will expire in “minutes” - but it is there the next day. If you combine this with their not being straightforward about the task, most people would be well advised to “stay away” even if a few souls make a few bucks - I wish them well.
This is all part of “free speech” and internet technology - reminds me of the Desiderata plaque - “exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery” as long as it doesn’t blind you the virtues that exist.

No one I know wants to get taken advantage of, and certainly no one has $197 to just give away. I’m disappointed to find out that this is just some more crap, but happy to know that I didn’t fall in the crap hole — minus my $197. If anyone knows of a legitimate work-from-home opportunity, please share it with me. Thanks.

I am so glad i found this blog…I have been receiving multiple home business opportunities through e-mail of late and i’ve litrally gone over their pay schemes over and over again, and the way the business works… i have even interacted with a few sponsors and asked them questions in abundance, but no one seems to come outright and tell you that once you invest a certain amount of $$$, you will also need to set aside some additional $$$ for advertising your product each MONTH and also pay the monthly admin fee for hosting your website…Fortunately, I came across a genuine INSIDER from one of the schemes who outright explains that HOW its ALL BS AND HYPE…bottomline is, when you get into the business, you have to treat it as a business, and become a student of online marketing…learn the techinques and than eventually start earning well…I was so happy that i came across the guy…He has written out as well as provided an audio of telling you exactly what to expect once you enter the particular business…

Lets face it folks, you can’t earn money WITHOUT HARD WORK…

I just received the process rebates at home scheme on e-mail…and boy did i come close to signing up with it…i agree wid da majority that it’s certainly misleading…and all those BS TESTIMONIALS…i bet those ppl are trained to say shit just to get others on board and make a fool out of them further…

Why can’t there be genuine HONESTY, is that how shallow mankind can sink to mislead ppl to think they can start earning big $$$ within minutes…seriously if you’re gona do that at least lay out the hardcore facts which an insider did for me and was willing to provide one on one help to build the business…he even said that he came across a certain member in the business who told him to just make up the money he’s making…how fcuked up is that?

and the funny thing is, Angel Stevens says that she was broke and almost on the streets…i seriously doubt her honesty and integrity thats full of BS…ya she offers you the money back guarantee, but why waste time doing something that mislead you from the outset!!!

anyhow, im glad i listened to my sixth sense and checked on google and came across this blog before i made the same mistake others have…thx a ton guys!

Lilly - there are plenty of opportunities that are not scams. If you are willing to put in time and effort then the sky is the limit. If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme then you will be dissapointed and more likley to find a scam. Look at opportunities online like growing a business, it takes time to learn, execute what you learn and build your business.

If you are interested then the link that Payton mentioned is a good place to start. Also another good place to start if you are new is http://www.top-home-based-business.com/pips.html

It is a scam when you tell people they will receive $15.00 for each rebate they process, when in reality the the whole process involve advertising and selling other peoples product and then receiving a $15 commission. In what ever sense or way you define the word scame, it will exclude this manner of markerting your product from scam. I’m just glade for the managers of this web site that have taken time to expose this evile. If I eventually decide to buy this programme, I will not buy from liers. I will buy from this site that speaks the truth.

the sites http://www.quickinfo247.com/….or http://www.moreinfo247.com/…are all scam;I have tried it is free to join but it is realy scam. They promised a lot, you first become an affiliate(get your website, ad texts, banners, how to marketing ….) and you have to become EA in next 30 days otherwise you are not going to get any income. To become EA you have to have each month SVP 10.So you have to post your free website and attract more people to join, for each who joins you get 1SVP or you join to some programs that you pay $29.90 or $49.90 each month and you have 10SVP or you have to sell products.I have tried and canceled and wouldn’t recomand to anybody.

I think one of the things everyone should look at when doing any kind of business online. Is someone trying to market to you or are they introducing you to a marketing opportunity? Most of the loopholes and misleading claims are immediately evident when all offers are looked at in this light. How does a business benefit from your participation? Do I make my money off of a product or service and its transfer, and if so, to whom?

This is simply an affiliate program with a fee. Usually never a good idea. Why they even made it so complicated is beyond me, all it did was confuse and peave a lot of people who might have made great business partners, and discredit their trustworthiness.

For a mere $17.00, I will collect all the information you can provide on these bastards who ripped you off and I will do some Due Diligence with the banking entities to track down these people and then based on this information, I will write a letter and send an email for you to the appropriate state attorney. As you have already been taken for potentially 100s of dollars, $17.00 will seem as nothing to have the satisfaction of seeing these scam artist brought to justice!!

I will send both a type-written physical letter, as well as an email copy of the physical letter to the appropriate S.A. Then I will confirm the mail and email to you and copy you via email, or physical mail.

Your own personal phone number and mailing address will be used in the letter to the State Attorney so that if their office needs to contact you for further information, or for you to appear in court to testify, you will be able to be contacted directly by any legal agencies.

If you wish to avail yourself of my services, I can be contacted at evath@yahoo.com.

In the subject line, please type in: STATE’S ATTORNEY LETTER NEEDED.

    Thanks.

P.S. This is not another scam. I am just a single-mom who needs to work-from-home and was doing her due diligence about this rebate from home business and saw that perhaps there is a need for what I’m offering here. This was a better way to work from home, better this to fall prey to these scam artists, I can make a living by helping others who already have.

I have to say that I tried one of these programs, and while the information they are selling is good for someone who doesn’t have a clue as to what they are doing, it isn’t really that good. A well placed internet search will net you the same amount info. If it’s affiliate programs you’re interested in, search for that, and there are several affiliate companies out there that market for other reputable companies, for example, Commission Junction. You can also hawk products for Paydot.com. You get on free safelists and advertise. There are also companies who are hiring digital transcriptionists, if you have the proper equipment. The information is really out there you just have to look.

Its funny how you see the BBB logo thrown around on the net, but I know from experience that the BBB isn’t all that it is cracked up to be either. I used to own a company, a small one of about 25 employees, I was a member of the local BBB. My local BBB ended up going bankrupt!

As for these “scams”, I haven’t found a single on-line opportunity that isn’t some sort of investment gimmick, tell me how much I can only if I pay for the service. I usually tell them if you are making so much money, front me the sign up fee and I will pay it back when I make loads and of money from your opportunity..!

My personal favorite are all these sites that talk about selling products, but when you go there you see some guy sitting on the beach with a big fancy boat in the background and nowhere on the site does it say what you are going to be selling!
